Saudi Arabia's job market has shifted dramatically since 2020. Vision 2030 reforms, Saudization quotas (Nitaqat), megaprojects (NEOM, Red Sea, Diriyah), and a wave of foreign direct investment have transformed hiring. Resume strategy that worked in 2018 doesn't work in 2026. Here's what does.
What's different about KSA hiring in 2026
- Saudization (Nitaqat) tiers: companies are categorized by % of Saudi nationals employed. This affects whether they actively recruit non-Saudi candidates.
- Vision 2030 priorities: sectors aligned with national priorities (renewable energy, tech, tourism, sports, entertainment, mining) hire aggressively.
- Megaproject hiring: NEOM, Red Sea Global, Diriyah, Qiddiya — these run their own ATS systems (often Workday or SuccessFactors) with high volume.
- English + Arabic preferred: Arabic isn't always required, but listed even at conversational level helps.
- Local job boards still dominate: Bayt, Naukrigulf, GulfTalent, plus LinkedIn, Indeed Saudi.

Photo expectations
KSA convention typically includes a passport-style photo on resumes — similar to UAE. For ATS submissions, the same trade-off applies: photos can break parsing if placed in headers/sidebars.
Recommendation: maintain two versions — ATS-optimized (no photo) for online ATS submissions; personal version (with photo) for direct email submissions and Bayt/Naukri Gulf platforms.
Common KSA resume mistakes
- Listing "Arabic — Beginner" without proficiency. If you don't speak Arabic functionally, don't list it. Recruiters often verify in interviews.
- Including political or religious views. KSA is conservative — keep personal views off the resume.
- Mentioning previous employers in "non-aligned" sectors (e.g., alcohol, gambling, certain entertainment). State the role functionally, omit company specifics if needed.
- Using non-Hijri dates only. Western dates (Gregorian) are standard and expected. No need to dual-list with Hijri.
- Salary expectations on resume. Generally not expected; raises in interviews.
Apply through the right channels
- Government / megaproject roles: apply through company career portals (NEOM careers, Red Sea Global careers, Aramco, SABIC). They use Workday or in-house systems.
- Banking / financial services: LinkedIn + corporate career portals. Bayt is secondary.
- Multi-national company KSA branches: Workday, SuccessFactors, Greenhouse — same global ATS.
- Local Saudi companies: Bayt, Naukrigulf, LinkedIn.
