How Jobvite ATS Reads Your Resume — and How to Pass It
Jobvite is the mid-market US ATS for industries that find Workday too heavyweight and Greenhouse too startup-flavored. Strong on social-share workflows but with a parser that favors structured fields over creative formatting.
What is Jobvite?
Jobvite (now part of Employ Inc., which also owns Lever and JazzHR) is widely used in staffing, services, healthcare, and US mid-market companies. Its parser is solid on standard formats but has stricter field-mapping rules than Greenhouse or Lever, and rejects creative section names more aggressively.
Companies using Jobvite
- US mid-market companies (1,000–10,000 employees)
- Staffing and recruitment-services firms
- Some US healthcare networks and provider groups
- Industries where Workday is overkill and Greenhouse hasn't penetrated
How Jobvite parses your resume
Structured field extraction with strict naming
Jobvite maps to: Name, Email, Phone, Current Title, Current Employer, Education (last 3), Experience (last 5). Each field needs a clear label or contextual pattern — if the parser can't infer it, the field stays blank.
Strong on referral and social-import flows
Jobvite's strength is multi-channel application import (LinkedIn Apply, Indeed Apply, employee-referral links). Resumes imported through these channels have additional metadata attached that affects ranking. If you can use a referral link, do.
Common Jobvite parsing failures
Section naming flexibility is low
Jobvite's parser doesn't match 'Career Journey' to 'Experience' the way Greenhouse will. Stick to literal 'Experience' / 'Work Experience' / 'Education' / 'Skills' labels.
Date parsing fails on year-only ranges
'2020 – 2023' without month resolution often gets parsed as 0-year tenure. Always include months: 'Jan 2020 – Mar 2023'.
Two-column scrambling
Same pattern as every other parser — sidebars get processed first, then main column. Single-column layouts only.
Resume tips for Jobvite
- Literal 'Experience', 'Education', 'Skills' section headers
- Month-resolved dates ('Jan 2020 – Mar 2023')
- Single-column layout
- Plain-text contact info (no styled bars)
- Apply via referral or partner-channel link where possible — it changes Jobvite's downstream routing
