What we will not put on your CV

A photo, date of birth, age, marital status, religion, nationality, ID numbers, salary, a full street address, or the line “References available upon request”. They are common on CVs in South Asia and the Gulf and they can only count against you with an international recruiter. If your current resume has them, the free scan will point them out.

What is an executive CV?

An executive CV is a two-page job-search document for senior roles. How is an executive CV different from a normal resume?

A normal resume lists roles and duties on one page. An executive CV has to show breadth, depth and leadership beyond one function, so it adds a positioning profile and key areas of expertise at the top, shows promotions inside each company, gives recent roles four to eight achievement bullets, and runs to two pages.

Who is it for?

Managers, senior managers, directors, VPs and C-suite candidates, typically with eight or more years of experience, who apply through executive search firms, in-house recruiters or senior job postings. If you have under five years of experience, a one-page resume serves you better and our $5 rebuild is the right product.

Do you invent achievements or numbers?

No. Every number in your CV is checked by software against your original resume and the answers you typed. Anything that cannot be traced is flagged for you to confirm or edit before you download. Bullets are rewritten as achievements, but no fact is added.

Will it pass an applicant tracking system?

Yes. The CV is single column with standard headings and plain text, and we run it through the same parser check as our free scan. That matters because many senior roles are still submitted through Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo before a person reads them.
